So even though I don’t really update this very often, and I like keeping my Internet presence to humble minimum, I figured I’d touch base with you, whoever checks this site for the next month or so. I’m going on tour with River City Extension as their electric guitarist. All over the place. the only thing that really sucks is the video cuts off like 30 seconds from the end which is really messed up but im gonna look into it and see if i can get the full thing.

there are no words that can adequately describe how talented every member of this band is, not to mention the collective genius of their songwriting, arranging, and live show. so i wont even try to find any.

Monday im going to be at Slash Root Cafe in New Paltz, NY with Monkees Of Folk, which im very stoked about!

just wrote a song with one chord in it, an E+ under which there are a total of 7 different bass notes which drag the chord through all these different landscapes, finally ending on the last one, E+/F (FmiMA7) and fading out into nothing. im pretty stoked about it. working title “SpideR”

was written in a state of delirious exhaustion coupled with bitter frustration and is not pleasant to read. and i almost want to get rid of it following some recent developments. my mom saw the post and proceeded to go on ticketmaster yesterday morning at 10amEST, and actually got a ticket. i was sleeping at the time, no chance i was gonna make it to town early after friday night, i didnt get that much sleep. SHE GOT A TICKET. shit, thats more than good enough for Mom of the Year 2012. many many unending thanks

so. April 24 (Punch Brothers) and May 31 (Radiohead) of this year i get to see two of my favorite active musical acts live, in the flesh. beyond stoked its not even funny.

also, i just saw this a cappella group from SUNY Oneonta perform this afternoon, and they blew me away. check em out: Hooked On Tonics

im not going to sit here and complain about the way this band does their business, except i am cause im exhausted and angry.

why make such a big thing out of special presale tickets for w.a.s.t.e.-central members, and keep the sale time a big secret, so that all the die-hards pull all-nighters from midnight on, then let em go at 10 fucking 30 in the morning so they can all get snatched up by the fucks who were lazy (smart) enough to go to sleep and get up at a reasonable hour in the slim hopes that they hadnt already been gotten to by like 3 or 4am?! idk man, radiohead you are still my favorite band and i would give anything to see you live, youre an independently run outfit, and you are arguably the most desired and sought after live band of the modern era, so i know to expect tickets to sell out within minutes. but im just super pissed i gave up a night of sleep and mental clarity, and have nothing to show for it. and now im probably gonna sleep through a beautiful 60 degree day because of it.

maybe ill try through ticketmaster on the 10th, at least then ill know what time they go on sale

I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS FOR NO OTHER BAND EVER.
(okay maybe if Beethoven came back from the dead and did one huge world tour before they re-buried him i would probably wait for weeks to get a chance at a ticket, but no living act could make me do this other than Radiohead.)
